Omar Cruz Cabrera is an award-winning music composer hailing from Puerto Rico with expertise in orchestral music, particularly excelling in film scoring. His compositions are enriched by a wide range of global musical genres, incorporating elements from electroacoustic, choral, and sound design traditions.

He started his musical training at the Escuela Libre de Música in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and subsequently obtained a Bachelor Degree in Science (BS) in Physics Applied to Electronics and Bachelor Degree in Arts (BA) in Music from the University of Puerto Rico. There he studied piano, orchestration, and composition.

Cruz Cabrera pursued further education at the University of Phoenix, where he earned a Master's degree in Technology Management (MBA/TM). He also completed the "Specialist Certificate in Orchestration for Film and TV" from Berklee. He later earned a second Master's degree in Musical Composition with New Technologies at the International University of La Rioja (UNIR) in Spain.

Omar Cruz Cabrera has been recognized with numerous awards, including the “Ed Cherney Scholarship” for his outstanding academic performance at Berklee. Recently, he received the Paris Film Awards (IMDb Qualifying Festival) - Best Original Score for the feature film "De La Cruz" and the MJ Production Films 10th Anniversary Film Fest - Mejor Banda Sonora Original for the short film "El Idiota", further solidifying his reputation as a distinguished composer.

Beyond his role as a composer, Omar Cruz Cabrera is actively involved in directing and producing music across various projects and tours. Remarkably, he has composed music for award-winning cinematic productions, both short and feature-length. His work has been featured in internationally recognized projects, including films showcased at festivals such as the Puerto Rico Film Festival, LUSCA Film Festival, and Filmapalooza 2024 in Portugal, among others.

At present, Cruz Cabrera takes on the dual roles of musical director and co-producer for the international artist WILKINS. He is also the music producer and composer for the unique audiobook experience of the new fantasy novel 'The Black Hearts: Book of the Rising Sun' by M. Duviel Irizarry, which has been released worldwide. This extensive 632-page fantasy novel has achieved Amazon Bestseller status, ranking #3 in the 'Folklore & Mythology' category. These collaborations not only showcase Cruz Cabrera's multifaceted expertise but also underscore his consistent contributions to the music industry.

Additionally, Cruz Cabrera is an active member of the Society of Composers & Lyricists (SCL) and is represented by the International Artists Group (IAG) in select film and media projects. His work continues to shape the industry, and his music remains an essential element in cinematic storytelling.
